chicken with swollen eye

Thankyou so much,Im thinking about going to tractor and supply right now to get the colloidal silver.I really dont want the shipping to take two days.so hopefully tractor and supply has it.

I don't think I've ever seen it at TSC... In my opinion it isn't something people usually use to treat chickens/animals in general. :p But you could probably find something else there that would help them.

If it is fowl pox I don't think there is much risk of them going blind (all mine ended up being fine). And now I am pretty sure that it is FP because you said that one of them has it on his/her beak. And the pullet pictured has sores on her face - those two things alone are characteristics of fowl pox. I'm sorry that I didn't see it at first.
Let me see if I can bring up some pictures that I took when my chickens had the pox....

Are you seeing any coughing or sneezing, or other signs of a respiratory disease? Can you post a clearer picture of the face? I cannot tell if there is pox or just a gunky eye. I would clean the eye with saline, and remove any pus present. Apply Terramycin eye ointment twice a day. If you think she has respiratory signs, get injectable Tylan 50 along with 3 ml syringes with 20 gauge 1/2 inch needle. Give it orally with the needle removed, 0.2 ml per pound twice a day for 5 days. A 5 pound bird usually gets 1 ml, and give it by mouth very slowly, a drop at a time so she doesn't choke. I am not a fan of silver, but you can Google colloidal silver and make up your own mind.

im going to have to order it online.BUt ill keep you updated

Two of my chickens when they had the pox. The D'Uccle's eyes were sealed shut and she lost a lot of weight from not being able to eat properly, but she made a full recovery.
