There are some diseases that can cause swelling in the hock area of the leg, such as mycoplasma synoviae and viral arthritis. I've never seen a break in pictures that looked like that, but I supposed it could have healed wrong and scarred. Generally when a bird is limping from a sprain or break, it is best to confine them in a cage in the coop for a couple of weeks on vitamins to heal it. Hopefully a break is all it is, and it's great that she still feels great. Aspirin 80 mg (low dose) twice a day is safe for pain, and the poultry vitamins in water or B complex tabs crushed into food may help. Here are some links to read about the 2 diseases above:
