Chicken won't close beak!!!!

O.K. so she is only keeping the beak open if you hold her?
IF she is not eating/drinking then she will be in trouble very soon. Can you put food/water near her and watch to see if she will eat/drink on her own?

Yes I put some vitamin water right beside her and I'll put some food near as well. She's about 8 months old I believe and yes her beak drops open when I hold her but she keeps it closed when I put her down but her neck still sticks out regardless! I'll post photos when I get home.

I always have water right by the coop part where they sleep, which is where she is every time I check on her, I haven't seen her down with the other chickens like she always is with.

Maybe something stuck in her crop? They’re pretty tough in the cold, I forgot one once at -30, in the morning I found her snuggled in a little melted nest by the coop door with her head under her wing, she was perfectly fine! Wow did I ever feel bad - haven’t missed a head count since

So she's eating but her neck still won't go down and her bottom jaw is swollen

Also I checked her throat there's nothing in there. She also was down with the other chickens

They haven't laid any eggs yet and I have one easter egger, her, and one rooster. That's it. Was wondering when they'd atart laying though but they're just now getting through molting

I'm having a hard time understanding what you mean by her neck won't go down. Does she have Wry Neck? Is the neck twisted?

You mention that her bottom jaw is swollen. A good photo of that would be helpful too.

My mother contacted a good friend whose raised chickens for forever and he confirmed she has wry neck. She's eating and drinking but he says she's most likely not going to pull through. Thank you for all of your help guys and I'll keep everything updated
