Our Chicken has quit leaving the nest all together. We have no rooster so these are unfertilized eggs (there are 4) She used to lay & then leave until the next egg. Now she does not appear to eat or drink.

She has gone broody, and since you are not hatching chicks and she may starve and dehydrate herself, it's wise to break her of this immediately. Collect the eggs as quickly as possible after being laid each day- go to the coop several times if necessary. A broody without a rooster can set for weeks at a time, go light, and endanger her health-

I just had this happen to me, and got great advice from BYC posters. Take her off the nest and don't let her have access to it for a few days. Take the nesting materials out of there, too. It took about three or four days for Hermione to start looking to roost back in the rafters of the horse barn, so I am hoping she is over it, but I had to totally close off the area she had been laying in. I hand fed her treats to get her going eating again, and she seems OK.
good luck.
