Hello! I have 4 beautiful EEs that Ive raised ever since they were chicks. They are good girls, the best chickens, even the vet said that they're very docile and almost loving birds. I am having troubles with one of my girls, she likes to peck at my feet! It doesn't hurt but it is very annoying. It doesn't happen when I approach her or anything, it usually happens when I'm walking away from them (or her). I have read up that it's a sign of dominance, and I usually 'peck' at her back like my dominant chicken does but it doesn't and hasn't helped. She stands up straight like she wants to fight and I've done that too and encroached on her space and she did nothing but I don't really wanna fight my chicken lmao. I also have picked her up and put her under my arm to show my dominance, but she still pecks at my feet. If I'm far away she'll like run besides me for a bit nicely and then out of nowhere lunge and peck at my feet.
As far as I read, no one really knows what to do with this behavior to really nip it in the butt and stop them from doing it. Has someone done this before? What worked for you and how did you stop this behavior?
