  So on the Austrolorp Thread, they said Austrolorps do NOT go broody and the roosters are not aggressive. My two BA roosters were the meanest I have ever had, and right now I have SIX broody hens!! Literally my nest boxes are all filled so one is sitting on the floor!

yeah... I know how that goes...

What have you guys been up to lately?

Not much... Yesterday was a long day so I'm tired. *yawns* have you ever seen a "speeder"? (Railcar, track car, etc.) They used to be used for Maintenance on the Railroads... They were replaced by hi-rail trucks. They have a fiberglass(or steel) cab and some run like an old car. My brother bought one in 2013(I think?) That had an old engine that ran like an old car. To get in reverse though, you had to catch the fly wheel and throw it into reverse. It was pretty neat. He bought a bigger one then and redid it like a local railroad paint scheme. We travel all over the place with a group and go on these trips with the track cars. Most fit 2-8 people, depending on the style. We have one that fits four people now. The cars originally came from Canada from Canadian Pacific and Canadian National rrs. Here's where you can see photo examples of the cars. We just had a trip yesterday on the Everett RR in Hollidaysburg-Roaring Spring,PA Narcoa.org

One of the many things I've learned from keeping chickens is to never put stock in breed descriptions.

Mine have all been the opposite of what they were supposed to be!

I love seeing things like this.

Today has been a busy day: church, groceries, ice cream, and then coming home to clean the coop.

My brother is graduating soon, so he plans to work with the local railroad. That's why he chose the paint scheme he did. He let me drive it once on a mile of tracks a historical society that we're part of owns. I hope to drive it more... It's not the easiest, but it isn't really hard either.

I totally forgot! You know the day where I showed you peeps the goslings? Well, A little after that I was on our neighbours trampoline and a two of our neighbours kids came to play with me ( They were like 8 or 9) and I looked down on our pond and I saw a little red head bobbing up and down in the water. I kept squinting and I was like, Ducks don't have a red head and wattles, And neither do geese. So I thought, The only thing that can be is a... And then there was Lavender swimming up to the shore. Then I ran down and grabbed her and she was shivering and her heart was beating ever so fast. Poor girl. So I took her up to the neighbour kids and one of them said that she saw a head come up from the water so that meant that Lavender took a pretty good swim. Then I took her up to the house and my mom said put her in a cage with the heat lamp on her so she won't have a heart attack. My mom said she saw the geese chasing the chickens away from their babies so my moms theory is that the geese chased Lavie into the pond:( She is fine now but Lavender just proved the impossible. Or, Can chickens swim?

Anyways, Thats my story of today

Fun... Glad she's okay though. Our chickens love to get baths (some of them) they'll just float around in the big sink all day. :gig

Sounds like a lot of fun!
