yeah, i haven't bought a lot from a store though so i have a smaller chance of getting a roo. i've only owned 7 chickens in 5 yearsI can see why you're afraid of hatcheries.Mistakes happen everywhere. But one thing I've learned is that you aren't safe even buying from a store. We picked out six lovely little EEs during a shopping trip at Rural King a couple springs ago, and what do you know - a little cockerel popped up in the bunch!However, we've ordered 35 or more chicks from Meyer Hatchery (where Alex was hatched), and only one "oops" occurred.I'm so hoping you can find that little Campine you've been after, no matter where it's from.
At least that Cuckoo Maran cockerel is beautiful, not sure if he is mean, i have only met him 2 or 3 times. He let me pick him up but he was kinda scared.
