You think your chickens heard about an early spring from Punxsutawney Phil? Could be I suppose! We are having an early spring no doubt about that. Also, most "traditions" like this are based on very old historic events! I'm happy to hear that you keep your "retired" hens. I do too! 7 eggs that week Sunday through Saturday.
14 the 2nd week, 16 the 3rd week.
5 of 7 are laying. One is finishing molt. The other is retired.
So there could be something to February 15th here in the Northern Hemisphere. GC
