I just found a block that I bought years ago for lasagna gardening. We put it in the run and chopped it up into small pieces and covered it with fallen leaves. We will probably get 2 or 3 bales of straw to throw in also. If and when I have food scraps they will be thrown in, too.

I've actually gone out and gotten more. Have a hydroponics store and they had weenie bricks perfect for the babies that survived this years spring shipping disaster.
You don't have to rehydrate to instructions. If you just do a 1/4 of the amount and rotate the block over the course of an afternoon it can be flaked apart by hand.
