Can chickens get used to a bit of noise?
I am thinking of putting the coop close to the barn. (Or maybe even just use one of the 12x12 stalls in the barn as their coop?)
Where we are it's hot and one of my horses has a condition that impacts his ability to sweat. We build him a barn that's really well ventilated in the summer but he also has a large livestock fan and mister blowing into his stall to keep him cool during the summer.
The fan would of course not be aimed at the chickens but it is pretty heavy duty/loud.
Would they get used to that?
I have little house wrens nesting in my barn every year and they don't seem to mind the fan but of course if chickens are extra sensitive to noise I'd need to know that now before the coop is build...
