Wondering if anyone on backyardchickens.com is in Shawnee, KS in a subdivision? We are just starting out, 6 chicks just four weeks old so they are still in brooder box in the garage. But neighbors already curling up their noses with doubts and mild disapproval. Hoped to keep it private a while longer, but we have kids and host lots of kids in the area, so word has spread. Two couples are very supportive and three others, not so much. I have compiled info to share with them eventually, basic info, no roosters, benefits of chickens, etc. City ordinances allow them, but I guess if neighbors wanted to get grumpy they could cause headaches with homeowners association... Any others nearby or suggestions from our backyard chicken friends? Thank you!
