chickens as house pets? Opinions and views

I do not underestimate the intellectual ability of chickens. I doubt that anyone, especially a child, would have that sort of time to waste. Training a chicken like that would take an enourmous amount of time and effort... much better spent in school or doing other activities. Just because something is possible doesn’t make it realistic.

You Didint believe that silkiemother trained their chickens to not poo in the bath, I was replying to say that it is possible, and its not that hard. Also keep in mind that teaching them to not poo in certain situations is not actually potty training.

I mean do they need vaccines like other animals and if do how to I go about taking care of that?

when theiy are chicks it is best to vaccinate them for mareks and the other major ones.and every day they get herbs in their feed to help them stay healthy

I have a super friendly OEGB named Yukon - because as he was getting in his adult plumage, his coloring wavered back and forth between silver or gold ... like Yukon Cornelius of Rudolph fame. He finally "settled" on Red Pyle - and he sure is a purty little fellow. He's not a house rooster, but I'm sure he'd adapt easily, should the opportunity ever arise!
Enjoy your KFC ... gee, that just doesn't sound right, does it? But enjoy him anyway. He's a very lucky boy!

Gamefowl are very friendly to humans. I keep several around just because I enjoy them (mine are modern game bantams) and they're wonderful. You will enjoy him immensely! If you need diapers, fluffy butt chicken diapers on Facebook will be able to help. She makes a wonderful product!
