chickens as house pets? Opinions and views

But seriously, nothing is wrong with us! Does loving our chickens and being willing to change a diaper 24/7 make us crazy?
Yes. Absolutely. I have to change this to be more compassionate and less rude.
I don’t think you are crazy but the idea of keeping chickens in the house is. House chickens is more like an accessory that work out for you but the chicken doesn’t benefit.

Chickens like company, they are flock animals. I think one alone would be sad.
I personally would NOT keep one...inside. They have tremendous dander, they poop all the time and everywhere....a diaper is cruel in my opinion let alone how it would impact the health of her back end. You might be happy with all these things but would SHE?
If you want something (a bird) of your own why not go with something more traditional a cockatiel or a budgie. There’s a lot to think about besides what your wants are. Think of the animals needs. Best wishes

really?our birds are treated monthly to protect them from diseases and theiy are trained not to go to the bathroom in the bathroom when they come in to get a bath.
How in the word did you manage that? The only way I can get Herman to do anything is by offering food. We had him jumping for tidbits for awhile, but he's so uncoordinated that we were afraid he'd hurt himself. I think his middle name is "Klutz!"

No. I simply don’t believe that.
Chickens are outdoor animals and they prefer to be outside. Unless your house is crawling with bugs (and it will be if you let them live indoors), what are they going to do all day? Roost on your furniture and poop, that’s what. And if you have children? Not a good idea. It’s absolutely disgusting, as a matter of fact.
Herman only comes in at night. Since he was raised a solo, he's not really comfortable with the flock ... except as a nanny for the babies. Once everyone goes to roost for the night, he's ready to come back in. He doesn't really wander the house anymore, especially now that we have a big, ungainly puppy who thinks Herman's a big stuffie, made for chewing. We still let him in, though. It keeps him people-oriented, which is really important for our classroom visitations and petting zoos. Besides ... he's fun!

Chickens in diapers is crazy. They crap so much every day you would have to change the diaper every 5 min to keep them clean. Otherwise they’re walking around with full gloves all day? What is wrong with everyone?
Lmao.
I'm not judging anyone but that a Lil cray cray.
Can you imagine the smell and sagging soggy diapers? I mean, my chickens crap big loads every few minutes.. it would blow a face mask in half in a matter of minutes.
I don't think the chicken would enjoy having its own poo load smashed right on it's rear end.
