Chickens at Pet Stores?

Quote:
I considered this, but the city has done this time and time again to other owners, and I felt that it was about time someone stood up and said "that's enough." I shouldn't have to rehome my pets for any length of time considering most pet owners wouldn't even think about sending their cat or dog away to appease the city.

That could work if nothing else, as a last resort. Good luck with this. Maybe you will have a reasonable judge who will see the chickens are no different then outside dogs and alot less noisy too (even roosters). Maybe take a few in the house and take pictures of them watching tv with you and say, how can you tell me they are not pets.

thank you, that's exactly my point, being that it's impossible for us to produce additional chicks. Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines animal husbandry as the care AND production of domestic animals. My comment is that it doesn't say "care OR production." If we don't have a roo we can't be producing more birds and we don't meet the definition.

yeah, I know about them, but I don't know if they're a registered pet store.
