Chickens at the White House!

the White House is only dignified by whos residing in it each term...sometimes its not so dignified..IMO....also, chickens wont change that one bit...and also...having chickens isnt un-dignified...again...its only my opinion...

I completely agree. Although the actual house is a National Treasure and it should be held with some sort of respect (insert "stuffiness") for just being what it is.
That is all I was considering being dignified.... just the building itself.

I was addressing the statment about taking the "stuffiness" out of the White House. I didn't mean that having chickens is "un-dignified"! I have 'em!

However, everything has it's place (IMO).

Sure, i hear you. The White House gets my respect...as does my whole country in general. What i meant was...some presidents are a joke... but..thats for another forum....i dont want to get this thread closed...so, i'll leave my personal opinions of certain presidents to myself...

Yes, it is a monument but it's also someones home. A couple old heritage breeds wandering the lawn would look majestic. They could have fresh eggs in the kitchen and meat on the table...what a great way to support us homesteaders.

I think there is a thread some where about this subject. It goes along with the big garden that they are having put in. I think its a wonderful idea. To me it helps promote some self sufficiency and good health. It would be nice to see this have an impact on showing how important our farms are.
