Chickens ate dead mouse???

My cats are hunt offten and bring back dead mice and I just witnessed my chickens tearing atlest four dead mice apart and eating them?????? They have scratch and clean water with food out aswell?? Will my chickens get hurt from this??

Mine have eaten mice before. They seemed fine. The will literally eat anything they can fit in their beak. Lol

Chickens are naturally omnivores. They'll eat meat as well as plant matter. Some chickens will even actively hunt. So long as nobody's been putting poison out, your chickens are probably enjoying the treats the cats bring back for them.

My flock found a nest of baby mice and ate them all! Chickens will kill and eat anything they can. There is another thread on here where someone’s hen killed their neighbor’s small puppy!

Chickens are omnivores and mine eat baby rodents and even other birds if they can find them. They will happily even eat another dead chicken if the opportunity arises. Sometimes they even find live chicken injuries delicious which is why things like blue kote exist - to color wounds blue so they're less tasty looking.

A little extra protein wont hurt them and it's super normal. You may also find them eating snakes, frogs, or other small animals.
