Chickens attracting Bears!!

I've wondered about this. I'm just getting ready to start our coop. We have a Black Bear thats been making a daily appearance to our house. I made the mistake of leaving the bird feeder out once, and now I can't seem to get rid of him. I had a bag of sunflower seeds in a rubbermade garden storage thing, and he tore it apart and dragged the seeds off. He used to only come around in the middle of the night, but has now started showing up during the day.

I think I better go to the farm store and get an electric fence charger to protect the coop. Here I thought my biggest concern was going to be the foxes, coyotes, mt lions, and lynx, now I got to worry about the bears.
