Chickens breathing smoke

There are fires near where my family lives, I’m not worried about the chickens burning because our yard is six acres of green, well-watered grass but the smoke has hit us a couple of hours ago. The fires are going to come closer still so I predict the air won’t be breathable. I’m anxious about our seven chickens getting respiratory issues from the smoke.

So if anybody has experienced smokey air with their chickens, is there any way to prevent breathing issues or how to treat it afterwards?

Any replies are appreciated, thank you!

I'm in Washington and it's getting pretty bad today and expected to get worse. I'm worried about my flock and am wondering what everyone else is doing? We've only been through smoke like this once before but I have a feeling this time will be worse :(

I’m in Colorado and the smoke was pretty bad a couple weeks ago and it was raining ash. Our chickens were fine but I just provided extra water because they seemed to need to drink more water.
