Chickens can see more colors than humans

Very interesting article. This winter I used a LED flashlight when doing the evening rounds. It totally freaked out the quail and pheasant. Didn't seem to phase the chickens at all. I tried other flashlights and they were not bothered so their is something in the LED light that panics the game birds.

Nice article. When the standard 40 watt bulb in my coop burnt out I replaced it with a curly energy efficent bulb. The chickens would not go in the coop, replaced it with standard bulb, they walked right in.

Very interesting article. I had heard that they can see types of light that happen at sunset and sunrise, that we cannot see. That is how they know to go into the coop. Or crow before sunrise. I wonder what they think about our constantly changing plumage. It is a wonder that they can even tell humans apart!
