Chickens carry tons of diseases... (CPS alert!)

I feel for you OP..my ex is a sermon giving hypocrite who tried using CPS on us many times when my kids were small, God always covered us..in any event, being a minority has nothing to do with police / CPS abuse. I too am blonde and blue eyed and before I had my ex removed from the home, with the court's help, police officers / CPS were NEVER a help. People need to start paying attention to what is happening in our system..hello dictatorship with parents having no rights and free citizens are being made to feel like the enemy..

Some people are disgusting. Chickens ARE NOT filthy and disgusting. My bantams are pets and they are clean and beautiful. I keep them that way. I powder them, put good smelling creams on their combs, use baby wipes on their feet and even bathe them in warm weather. So much for filthy and disgusting. And yes, I HUG AND KISS MY CHICKENS EVERYDAY and have for over 30 years. I see some people's cats and dogs and they are gross and disgusting. Dirty, smelly and flea bitten. My chickens are actually cleaner than some humans I know and even smell better.

LOL they do! I have cockatiels too and I love bird smell. Not doo smell, their natural body smell. Call me weird if you like but I love the way they smell.

I know! We keep our animals clean and our house cleaner. I am allergic to both cats and dogs but we have them. I'm going through immunotherapy (allergy shots) so that their hair and dander won't bother me, as well as my pollen allergies. One of the best ways I've found to control my allergies in the house is to use an air purifier, have hard floors (we have pergo) sweep often, wipe down areas that collect fuzz (baseboards) at least once a month, and brush our pets and keep them bathed. The cats don't need the bathing much. If they get into something or get outside and get muddy they get a bath and they hate that. They just had one last month because they walked through a can of primer that tipped over while I was stacking cans in my storage room. LOL That was a mess!

We have 4 dogs in the house and one benefit is when one pukes the other clean it up, cause I won't. I don't know if I believe the part about the clean mouth of a dog at least immediately as I get grossed out when I see a dog licking certain body excrement's and the give master a big sloppy kiss.

OH MY GOSH! My dog was trained early on when we adopted her not to lick our faces or even attempt to lick our faces. Sometimes when she wants attention she licks my elbows and that grosses me out. Not because of her saliva, it just feels weird to have anything lick your elbow.

For shame! I know I should've never exposed them to such an unkempt den of cruelty! Besides the filth, look at the paint job! What kind of idiot would paint 4 coats of yellow on their walls, cover it up with green and grey and only paint half the grey on the wall? Sheesh. These ladies are deserving of high class marble tiles, wainscoting on the walls, stainless steel pedestal sink with the water flowing from a faucet in the ceiling. Heck, why keep them in a bathroom at all. They should've been in my bedroom. I should've given my guests my bed. What was I thinking!?

I cant evem imagine what that guys problem was...
It sounds very strange,..
Why was CPS even called to your house in the first place to SEE the chicks?
Did ex- hubby call them on you? What a jerk wad..

No my ex-husband is one of my best friends. He happens to live out of state now though. Ex-fiance however is a jerk wad. He called the police to accuse me of stealing his junk when I moved out. Seriously some lame junk but it made a big enough deal and said it was enough stuff it could be criminal. That charged was dropped however. Thank god for lawyers when they are on your side. I appreciate them so much more now. The officer was really pissy though because I brought in a lawyer and after that he got all uppity and accused me of having a messy house and called in the CPS officer. It will all blow over after they come back to see, oh hey her house isn't that dirty or really dirty at all.

Except at the moment I need to do dishes. My daughter has had me being Momma Maid since we got home from the hospital yesterday with a stinking splint on her leg. She somehow broke her growth plate in her foot by her big toe. She said it happened jumping on the playground and she got hit by a ball and it made her fall. sigh... I will make sure she isn't home when they come or they might think I pushed her too.
