I have two small backyard coops able to fit two chickens safely inside and suddenly two of my chickens decided to move and get comfortable into the other coop where a new flock member is staying. The new chicken has been with the two for a month now and suddenly they decided to move in with the hen instead of their original coop. No predators are able to get in nor is the coop dirty or smelly due to the fact I cleaned both this week. What can made them decide they wanted to move in with the new hen?

Those two decided that the new hen must be onto something and they weren't going to be left behind in the other coop and miss out.

A month is plenty long enough for the new hen to be accepted as a flock member. Chickens will flock together when they have the choice.

Having two coops is very smart. Chickens like having options when things get chaotic at roosting time. I have a second coop, too, and chickens that get tired of the roosting bullying will often use it. It sure cuts down on the amount of time I have to referee.
