I don't even have any chickens yet and I am obsessed with reading this forum. I have my initial brooder all set up (I have to get a thermometer this weekend) I posted the pics of my brooder on my profile, I dont know if it works. I ordered 10 hens all different kinds. We raised chickens when I was a kid but that was a long time ago.... patience is killing me!

I'm here obsessing on the forum too...won't get my chicks till the week of April 12th!!

I just keep looking at everyone elses chickens and try to learn from all the questions.

Yay! My babies are coming on Tuesday as well. I am getting 12 banty frizzles, 8 cochin bantys, a black australorp, a white jersy giant, a black jersy giant and a few standard cochins. So excited, I can hardly contain myself! I am preparin my brooders today!

I know how you feel. I'm getting pure Ameraucana babies next week!!!

They'll be 3 weeks old though.

I am getting a variety of chicks. definately some EE's I wont know all of them until I go the hatchery.............TUESDAY. Just think, they are in their little incubators getting ready to come out....I wish I could watch them hatch!!! Maybe next time. My family already thinks I am the Crazy Chicken Lady!!!

lol, i know the feeling, DBF literally falls asleep when I start gushing about my soon to be arrivals. I ordered 3 silver laced wyandottes, 3 gold laced wyandottes, and 3 buff brahmas...with hiopefully 5 more silver laced wyandottes coming a couple weeks later from a local friend here on BYC.

No one understands my chicken fever, except the awesome people here

Post some pics of your brooder. I think mine is too small for the long term. It will be okay for now. Its about 2X5 Im gonna try and build a bigger one this weekend, but I wanted to have something set up now...in case something happens over the weekend and I dont get the time....

I know how you feel Dottie, I can hardly SLEEP the last few nights, wishing on these chicks! I am beside myself with excitement!!! I have wanted to have some for YEARS and finally decided to JUST DO IT.

How do I insert pictures? I want to put pictures of my Brooder and get some help on other things I should do....
