Chickens crop is hanging low and feels full of liquid.

My friend's chicken had (what we thought was sour crop) sour crop and what he did was he saw that the chicken wasn't eating or drinking and was isolating itself from the other chickens. So he pulled some long grass out of the side of it mouth (it was hanging out of the side of its mouth) then he got a syringe and flushed some apple cider vinegar down it throat and after that it seemed to brighten up.

Now after about 3 weeks, its crop is very low down on it body and seems to be full of liquid when felt. It is eating and drinking and hanging around the chickens but its not laying.

Its a warren about 6 months old and before that it was laying everyday.

Sorry your friends chicken has been having issues.

Possibly pendulous crop.. some folks make crop bras to help it empty. See if this article helps..

I have a similar issue. My chicken I think has an impacted crop, is still social- but it's so heavy it's hard for her to walk...
