For some odd reason my chickens have been dying off.
I added 3 healthy pullets from an auction about a year ago, they were completely healthy and never bothered my flock. And then about 2 months ago a breeder on here shipped me 12 eggs, I hatched 3 and added them to my flock along with 6 chicks from a hatchery.
And 4 or 5 weeks ago one of my hens died, she was in the pen with some of the hatched chicks, and she was just hanging out with them, a few hours later she started acting weak, sat down, and when she attempted to stand she would fall over. Her eyes were bright, clear, and shiny. She was parasite free, her comb was waxy and bright.
She was eating and drinking, she just couldn't stand. The next morning she died. I disinfected the coop. And another hen was showing acting lethargic, and her comb was droopy and purple and she wouldn't eat or drink. But she could walk. She started acting better the next day and is now completely fine.
But last week one of my other hens was acting tired one evening before I closed them up for the night, her eyes were watering and she sounded clogged. I tried to give her water and she drank, and she could still walk. She sat down in the corner and died the nest morning.
And last night all of my hens were fine, and this morning my RIR's comb was completely droopy and purple, she stumbled out of the coop and died an hour later. The coop is clean, please help!!
