Chickens dying one at a time over a period of 4 months. No warning signs

The only thing tht we found that could be the culprit is mold. We had put vinyl decking down in the outside run due to it being a low lying area and it gets muddy quickly. Pulled it up and there was a lot of mold underneath and I know that mold can be dangerous to a chickens health so pulled it up and got rid of it. Gonna hatch out some new babies this spring and try again

i would switch the remainings of your flock to medicated feed. possibly set up a camera, or a baby watcher in the incubator to see whats going on. look at the poop closely, see if it has any blood spots on it. wash your chicks feet daily.

Oh no! I'm sorry you lost all your birds. Did you have any tested?
Mold sure can be the culprit, but I'd also worry about infectious disease. I'd hate for you to lose birds again. If you didn't have testing done, make sure that you don't experience the mold problem again, and clean your coop thoroughly with a product known to kill viruses (don't bother with bleach). Something like activated Oxine, Virkon, or Odoban would work. Follow all directions carefully and then air out your coop well.

hi Nambroth......I did not have any tested due to the barred rock coop is right next to this one and only had one death out of 20 chickens. It died as a chick. There is no decking in their coop it is dirt. So I didn't really worry about disease cos they are all healthy and fine. I am however going to disinfect the other coop completely while the other babies are in the bator.

Maybe you can build a frame and raise up the vinyl flooring so it doesn't get wet (*on the bottom*) when it rains?

I did think about doing this......but there was a lot of mold there so just pulled it up and changed the opening to the coop to the other side so that they can go out on fresh ground this time. Thank you for the suggestion........I sure do not wanna have a repeat of this experience ever again!!

Thank you for the advise hetherfeather I will def keep a closer eye next time. Their poop was fine I did check tht often. I just think It was a mold issue

There are always symptoms, but they may not have been noticed. Some issues to look at are: any discharge from eyes/nostril,sneezing,did you introduce any new birds,if you used a heat lamp, make sure it did not have any teflon on or around(teflon is toxic to birds)moldy feed, access to grit,impacted/sour crops, etc. the list is long.

Thank you for the advise Ten Chicks!!
