chickens dying

Got Corrid two days ago and administered starting yesterday (because I picked it up on my way to work) and already buffy seems to be doing better. She still sleeps alot But she does get up and drink and we make her eat some food (i.e. lettuce, tomatoes, feed, etc.). Last night she got up and walked around a bit so the outlook is promising. I also have the others in their pens on the Corrid.

Oh good! If anyone else turns up sick you might want to consider what food they're getting into.

I think you're doing the right thing. Cocci. would be my first guess. Chickens can get a few different kinds of cocci. Only one causes blood in the poop. Out of 10 or so that I've had in the past, only one shot bloody stool out.

So sad right now. After week of fighting this with Buffy she gave up the fight sometime last night in her sleep. I am continuing the treatment for the others right on through to hopefully ensure no more deaths. I sort of feel responsible due to Karma. Two weeks ago I got some for the purpose of ... culling for food. I did four of them that weekend now in the following two weeks I have lost three of my good flock that I love and each one has had a name so it hurts more. Karma... it is a ----.

Thank you Karen for your insight. At first I had negated Cocci due to no blood in the stool. But after treatment Buffy seemed to be doing better. Thank you again.

It's amazing how much faulty or half true information is out there, makes me really mad. My favorite way of correcting information is to find at least 10-15 sources (good ones) online to get started. I also buy books but they're expensive and sometimes hard to understand,

Sorry again
Karen
