Chickens eating dead mouse

So my chickens are fighting over a dead mouse. They of course won't let me catch them to take it away. How concerned do I need to be about this?

Depends on how the mouse died if they killed it dont worry about it as long as it wasnt poisoned your fine. Chickens are very much little meat eaters. They will kill and eat anything smaller then them that includes mice, humming birds, frogs, lizards, ect.

I don't know how it was killed. All I know is we have no poison here. I have found a few dead mice around but I don't know how they died. We have traps out but they are no poison traps as we have children and dogs as well

The neighbors cat likes to come and visit. Maybe it brings us presents as well! Never thought of that

Lol thats a possibility and yeah chickens will kill the mouse if they caught it, i seen them kill lizards and frogs by beating them to death on a rock very unpleasant to watch.

Oh my gosh! Yeah they were all chasing the hen that had the mouse!

Lol yeah, ours do that for frogs and they play tug a war with a snake.

Oh my gosh they are such amazing animals! We just moved to our house in june so hopefully we don't have snakes
