And yes the heat!! They will eat less on those roasting hot days.

Ive pretty much been just keeping an eye on their food dishes and if they have a lot left over= reduce the amount. If they are insane at 4pm I add a bit more. Seems to work as they are healthy and happy. I just wondered if the sudden drop off had to do with finally leveling off growth wise. For awhile we’d look at them every morning and be like “you seem to have doubled in size last night” lol

Chicks grow like weeds! I swear you can watch them grow as they sit on your lap.

I would just feed what they can consume in one day, not matter what that is. Sounds like you use bowls? I use bowls too, a large dog dish inside a larger dish, several of these set out. This way they can't knock it over and nothing gets wasted. Chickens love to scoop feed everywhere! LOL I have a general idea of what they will eat and put out enough to last one day. They each have their own schedule of eating, its always there.

I’m headed to grab some heavy rubber bowls. I was using the big metal dish I had but the FF started wearing into to. So right now I dish their food out on a big lid. They don’t really seem to care one way or the other lol

I love using those black rubber tubs, although I put a metal bowl inside of the tub and feed from the metal bowl. Those black rubber tubs are heavy and don't tip over easily!
