Chickens eating more food

Hi all,

I have nine chickens at approximately 18 weeks. No eggs yet but the last few days their food consumption has been crazy.. Nothing has changed they are just eating like little piggys - I'm hoping its a sign that they will be laying soon.

Please let me know your thoughts

Are you visually seeing it or is your food just disappearing via free loaders like rats or song birds?

No freeloaders, its the chickens just chowing down, their water intake is up as well and its been very cool here so they aren't over heated.

I wish I had kept track on how much, but my girls started eating much more when they started to lay for sure.
