Chickens eating scraps??

My chickens seem to like the roots more than the tops of ANY plants I feed them. Lettuce...all dug up in my garden after it went to seed and they ate only the roots. I've been kind of scared though, because I've realized they are getting into my Morning Glory vines and have eaten all the leaves at ground level. Morning Glories are very toxic and a hallucinogen! Do I have a bunch of 'tripping' chicken's?

I give them everything but onions and coffee grounds. They are a step on the way to the compost pile. I've had a couple of disasters with my breadmaker- mostly me not following directions clearly. They are VERY happy to take care of those for us. I also burned the bottom of one loaf of zucchini bread last week & they fought over that! Melon rinds and pasta are very popular too.

Someone said they gave theirs oatmeal,so I made them some,it was so funny watching them!!! They were like kids with candy~

One post that really stuck with me was one that mentioned not to feed them fish. It won't hurt the chickens at all, but they said they couldn't eat the eggs for a month cuz they tasted like fish!
