Chickens Eye

They got her in the beginning of august. She seemed to have maybe sinus

The people gave her this all All-in-one powder (pic attached). Which didn’t seem to do much except stop the little bit of sneezing and give her a little pep in her step.
Then her eye started. So we tried Tractor supply’s eye wash & antibiotic eye ointment. Which helped some but over the next few weeks her eye got worse. So I called a mobile vet. She prescribed Tetracycline HCl in Almond Oil Suspension SF (compounded). Which made her feel better and her color came back. The eye stopped bubbling but it formed a large ball

She does seem to be having some sorta sinus issue going on… its alittle runnny and must be stuffy cause she opens her beak to breath.
min her beak the side that’s swollen is also swollen through to the inside of her beak.
The pus needs to come out. If seeing the vet to help you with that is possible, that would be good. The pus will not dry up on it's own even with antibiotics.

If the vet is not an option, then you will need to press it out yourself. First try pressing the pus from the eye, if not press from the inside of the beak - it sounds like her choanal slit may be filled with pus. You may be able to loosen some of it up from there.

To clarify - when your parents got the hen, she already was showing symptoms and the folks that they got her from gave them the All In One Powder?

Tylosin is also very good to help treat sinus infections and pinkeye caused by mycoplasma (MG.) It is a chronic disease, and she will be a carrier. Unless you can get the pus out the antibiotics may not help. Here is an article about MG:

Thank you everyone for all your help.
i’m going to take her to a vet tomorrow.
If I could pop it through the skin like a pimple, I’d be all over it. But squeezing it through her eye seems alittle invasive considering how sore it seems to be.
It looks like it would be enjoyable to pop.
I did an eye rinse, a warm compress and then applied the antibiotic eye ointment. Fingers crossed they can take her tomorrow 🤞🏼
I’ll update after her appt.

Yes that’s correct.
