Hi,
I have a janol 12 incubator, I'm at day 21 and with a mix of normal and bamtam chicken eggs. 7 of the 8 in there look viable. The smallest egg, has pipped this morning but i'm now at 55% humidity ..
Should I wait for the chick to zip some more - thus releasing humidity or should i add water now.
Background
In the uk.
Room temp 13c to 15c.
Upto lock-down: temps have been around 37.2 to 37.5c.
Humidity targeted for 45% and not letting it drop below 20%.
Egg weight loss, between 11 to 17%
lockdown
target humidity: 65% (ranging between 60 and 69%|) - topping up when it has reached 54%
temps just a degree lower.
With janol being what it is, i've been a little conservative on the temps, going for slightly lower temps, so you end up with a longer hatch.
so coming back to the question
