Chickens Flying

The flight feathers of one wing... That's the only option I've ever known.

I guess you could tack one foot to the ground!

If you are going to clip, do not clip all the feathers on one wing or both.

Just clip the inside flight feathers and leave at least 3 wing feathers on the ends. The bird use these feathers for various things and when they are clip they are at a disadvantage.

I have a bird that some one clipped and it really is pathetic. The poor thing can not roost and he loses his balance when he is running.

If you even watched a bird run at full throttle you will se them hold their wings out and sometimes touch the ends on the ground.
 
I think the general consensus here is, unless you clip their wing, they will fly. But not to worry, they don't fly far, and it is probably not a bad idea to let them fly, as they can get away from predators (some)
