It's good to have your tools handy to the site in which you do your work....keeping the chopping block next to the chicken coop would sure be a great motivator!

I have a hanging feeder and changed from store feed to feed mill feed which is I guess a mash. What's the best feeder to use? I have been wetting it down and feeding them in a broiler pan but there has to be a betterr way.
Thanks
Kim

Trough style feeder. You can make a simple, cheap trough from rain guttering and 2x4s for feet/legs. To keep them from billing it out you can fit welded wire fencing over this trough and it's ideal. I went to this style of feeder years ago and never looked back...you can feed wet or dry, a little or a lot and can instantly see how much was eaten out of any one meal. Gives you an idea of what your flock is consuming each day.

Yeah. Ergonomics. That was my first thought. lol.

I read your mind....just think of the emotional scarring of those poor chickens who witness the slaughter of their flock mates. I can just see it now..Oprah interviewing the offspring as they sob into their diapers and describe the trauma of watching their mama get her head cut off. Oh, the horror.

LOL I see you hold the same high oppinion as I about my fellow Okies. True The town is dead on Sunday and also the rest of the week, they roll up the streets at 5:00pm. Now they do own gun's, good ones too and a $40,000.00 shiney new pick up trucks with all the bells & redneck whistles, but their homes look like the Clampit's minus Elley May LOL. I see you got first hand look at Okie commerce in the pawn shop's, junk brings a premium price round these parts, we got no need for that new fangled stuff anywhoo LOL. Phone booths are still all the rage round here, H3ll they just got them installed now we just have to figure out how to count all Dem number thangs on the box, dagnabitt what will those rascals come up with next by george.

I did find the one and only Bar there in Shawnee Walt but it's dang near 10 miles outside of town, it was ok and got better after a few drinks, you just have to be carefull not to use any big words when your there, or you might get socked in the nose LOL.
