Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

Nice haul, Fred!! Not bad for an old timer!!

Not a chicken question, just a question....Since my pup seems to have forgotten that those are "my chickens", I'm having to keep them in their coop and run while I'm at work. The coop is located at the edge of the woods. Can I just nail the fencing to existing trees?? The chickens stayed in the treeline 90% of the time they were free ranging anyway.

TIA,
Julie

I really enjoy her blog! I discovered the acv directions the other day, just in time for all the pies I make for the holidays! Can't wait to try it:)

Btw, I always get a laugh out of your dog, the quarter horse! I have one of those too, and a Tennessee walking dog :). Sometimes, I think they listen better than some other people's dogs I know...

Wow. I thought about trying to find the listing and let these people in on a couple secrets, but it's not worth my time. As our good buddy Ron White has been teaching us for years, you can't fix stupid.
maybe not, but I had a minute, that was all it took to find the ad, her phone # was there. I called her. she's pulling the ad and keeping her flock.

I like that idea - because..... 2 years ago I had roosters that got frost bite on their wattles from drinking from the full dog dish.Their wattles got wet in the dish.

good to know... I like that idea too, and I don't want to see frostbite solely from water consumption.

uuhmm. Im having wood envy.
A neighbor heats with wood and Ill try to remember to get you all a picture. He's had trucks of 15 ft logs brought in and cuttin and splitten for weeks. He is retired from the Mint in town. Second year on this mountain. His house is modest and the wood stacks are enough to more than fill up the house. lol. I have wood envy with him too. We have a gas fireplace that does a nice job heating our living area, not the laundry nd basement. But we also have a wood burning fireplace and I love it when its snowing and we light it up.
