The last couple weekends I have been saleing Produce at a local flea market. Each weekend I have been aproached to raise chickens for the asian community. They have already started haggling me for prices as of yeat I'm not even for sure if it would be profitable to raise them.

If you going to raise a meat bird (non-white feathered) Which one would you raise ?

Find out what they want. Ask around. Some Asian markets prefer black skinned chickens. Others will take whatever as long as it is not white. I used to have a neighbor that mase a fair amount of money raising chickens for the Asian trade. Since I was not interested in doing so I never asked her what breeds she was raising.

and 'they' being Asian customers who shop with me quite often prefer yellow skinned, shank and billed birds in most cases. often, many Asian people like to serve chicken to ladies who have just given birth for 30 days for health purposes.

i agree with Cassie. ASK. 'they' are people.

You need to ask exactly what they want, most want black feathered chickens, but you will run across those that want any color but white, and in late Dec to Jan they want a small hen and rooster that need to be red and if a black tail top price $15 a pair, also you do not need to butcher they do that. I've got one family that likes bantams and another that wants standard OE

'they' means who was talked to nothing else

I always read on here that the asians like the Silkies..Of course just like anyone their tastes differ. But i remember seeing on here several times that they like the Silkies for some reason..(i cant remember exactly why...Something about the black skin and bones maybe? )
