Chickens for an asian market

The breed or color of the chicken doesn't matter to my asian relatives. I do think the best thing to do is ask what their preference was in the breed and/or color of the chicken.

and 'they' being Asian customers who shop with me quite often prefer yellow skinned, shank and billed birds in most cases. often, many Asian people like to serve chicken to ladies who have just given birth for 30 days for health purposes.

i agree with Cassie. ASK. 'they' are people.

Do you have a problem with what i wrote?

no, not at all. for some reason i quoted you and then forgot to answer your part!

Asian people many times eat Silkies believing that the Silkies have healing powers. (black skin, bones, sinew etc.)

the 'they' i am referring to is in the OP's post. referring to 'they are already haggling' price etc....tread lightly.

I hatch eggs for a man who sells to the Asian market. He gives me his black sex link eggs to hatch.. I have hathed 300 for him already this summer and he will bring me all the eggs I can handle.. I am getting a whole bator ready for his next batch..

gee, maybe I shouldn't have called him "he" or "him" or "his" I might hurt his feelings.. Oh,,, I did it again.. Now I am calling myself "I" and "myself" I better stop before I hurt MY feelings... come on people.... take it with a grain of salt..

One of my students sells her spent layers (2 years old and not as productive) to a mostly Asian market because of the demand for older birds.

The main reason for their wanting older hen's/roosters is the stronger more flavorful soup stock that is a staple in so many of their dishes. I too have heard that after birthing that chicken has some sort of recouprative properties I dunno. The asian's in my neck of the woods will trip over themselfs to get a hold of some decent silkie birds.
