Chickens girls or boys

Hi
I got some chickens recently and they are about 5 or 6 months old. These two I wasn’t sure whether they are male or female since neither are laying yet, (or crowing). I have attached some photos and hope someone can tell if they are male or female

I suspected the first one is a cockerel too but was hoping not

At 5-6 months old I’m not convinced the brown one is a cockerel. Looks like a hen ready to lay to me. If you hold those saddle or hackle feathers in your hand you can see if they are pointy or if the hair like tips are actually round. I don’t know the breeds though. Are the two chickens the same breed? Is the brown bird an ISA Brown?

Thanks for the responses. Turns out like many said here that the 1st one is a cockerel as it has started crowing.
