Chickens have bloody legs

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Name's Mike. 5 Hens (Americana, 2 White Leghorns (I think), Cochin, and an unidentified bird, maybe I'll post a photo elsewhere on the forum and get some opinions on that!

I just noticed that 2 of 5 of my hens have small spots of blood on their legs! Could this be mites? I will look at them more closely later today and at least put some Vaseline on their legs...sound good? or is there a better approach.

Yes, I would definitely check for mites/lice and if they have them on their legs, slathering them with vaseline will def help. You can buy some poultry dust to treat mites on their bodies. Good luck!
