I am smiling and crying at the same time. smiling because of the good times you gave your rooster. He is beautiful. smiling because we all have had about the same story with the roosters. I have one just like yours was and I know how bad I would feel if I lost him.

Crying for Red. Yup, I believe she does miss him. It will take her a few days to get back to normal, but she will.
Crying for your loss as well.

Chin up, go on, and know that your rooster does indeed have a soul. He is pecking around the green fields of Heaven right now crowing at you.

Splice was indeed gorgeous! We have a magnificent Light Brahmin by the name of Major who brings so much personality and beauty to us everyday...despite being a totally hormone-riddled 1 year old he really does have a great vibe, he just can't help being so much awesome roo! Splice's kids are also very bright-eyed and handsome/pretty and a nice credit to him and you both.

I do feel bad for Red, she doesn't want anything to do with the two silky roosters we have.
She's just wandering around the farm all by her lonesome.
