Chickens imitating sounds??

The screen door to my chicken coop makes a loud screech noise when opened; l thought l was crazy because when l was in the coop to feed or water, l would hear the noise.. Today after l walked out and closed the door, l heard a perfect "screech" noise coming from inside the coop....one of my girls is obviously mocking that sound!!

Hmm will a silkie hen try to mimic "mock" a rooster. One of my bantam girls a silkie was making a mew or meow type sound this morning in reply to one of the big r0osters behind our house from her crowing. My wife says she is a rooster then she must be crowing I hope she is wrong as a she she would make beautiful babies as a roo she may cause problems with our other frazzle bantam rooster we have. And I already think the other batch of bantams has a rooster in it too though it hasn't made a sound but has a pronounced red comb already. So do silkie hens make this meow sound or is she a budding rooster?

Our house hen most definitely mimics sounds around the house and a few of the outdoor birds.
She also imitates "chick chick chick" when I call the outdoor chickens
... and when I say it purely for my entertainment ;)
There are certain frequent phrases said around the house that she mimics by sound as well. Such as 'what the...'
Her understood vocabulary is more extensive than any other chicken I've known.
Whether she chooses to acknowledge it all the time is another story.
She also LOVES my phone and tablet. She'll keep pecking at the YouTube app until I click it and put on one of the xylophone videos from this channel

I'm looking for just the perfect xylophone to see if she plays any of them from memory. She follows right along with the videos!

She also likes to play Plants vs Zombies lol

We live near a wolf sanctuary. This morning letting the birds out I could hear the wolves. Then from behind me I heard my roo mimic the howl several time. Was slightly unsettling, lol!
