Chickens in a classroom?

I remember in the 4th grade we hatch some quail eggs. I don't remember how many but I remember 1 hatched and didnt live. We buried it in the play yard. I dont know what she did with the ones that lived.

If its agriscience then you should be raising meat birds, you could run a chicken tractor full over the football field in the offseason and then teach your kids how to process birds. Wish they taught me stuff like that in school instead of that algebra crap, but thats why i'm in 4-h...
 
actually quail would be way better than chickens, they pretty much are mini chickens, you could hatch a bunch keep then hens in the classroom comfortably and process or sell the males. You should definitely look into coturnix quail.
 
That's a great idea! Better chance of getting done if benefits football in some way.
