Greetings, Chicken Gurus! I'm Susan from South Central Texas. Hubby and I are soon moving from the city to a small farm near San Antonio, and raising chickens for eggs & meat is a priority. We're realizing our dreams of a small homestead. I'm completely new to chickens, and am currently at the "OMG, Aren't They Cute!" stage when visiting our local feed store. There are ancient chicken coops at the farm that should probably be demolished so we can start from scratch, but we're still working on the house. We anticipate moving onto the property in the Spring, so there's time to learn and plan. Hubby is a pro when it comes to building things and we plan to start small, so we'll certainly be using this group as a resource.
