So; because I'm totally curious--how many of your chicken-lovers have taken a bird to a strange place? And I mean strange as in...not normal for chickens.
I've done that several times; but the best is when I took my young cockerel (he followed me around for weeks,) to Wal*Mart. I had him wrapped up in a little knitted bag that I carried against my belly. It was warm, and soft, and he was happy. It was hilarious when he's cheep a bit, and people would just turn around and stare at me like I was crazy for making such strange noises.

I took Olliver around town with me one day. We went and food at the feed and seed store, went to the local farmers market to get fresh fruit and veggies, and went and picked up my son from day camp at the local methodist church. That was the best, the pastor came down to talk to one of the workers and saw me holding something like a baby, he came over to see the "baby" and got a huge surprise!!! All he could say was that he'd never had a chicken venture into his church before!!!

Lol; yeah. It's always very amusing to see the looks on peoples' faces.

Well, I've brought my rooster, Ivory, on many car rides before. Probably over 20 different car rides, since I raised him myself as an indoor chicken because he was an 'only child' and a runt, and so I brought him everywhere with me. He loved to go on car rides and went every other weekend with me from the first day he hatched up until about 3 months old, when he moved to the big coop. Now, of course, the car rides are much less frequent because he has his own flock of hens and a coop to live in, but when he was little he seemed to really love going on car rides.

I called him my "traveling buddy".

He also used to love sitting in the window of the car next to me (with the window closed, of course!) while we were driving down the interstate, and we'd get so many odd looks from people when they drove by and saw him in the window!

But that's about it. I've always wanted to bring some of my chickens (such as the ones who love to be held and cuddled) to places with me, such as the grocery store or feed store.

My chickens like car-rides too! Lol. I brought one with me to babysit my grandmother's dogs; and I've been to a couple pet-stores.
