CHICKENS IN SANTA ANA, CA

The code allows a combined total of 4 fowl and/or rabbits - but no roosters.

So, for example, 2 hens, a rabbit, and a duck would be allowed.

Go get some chicks!

Hi everyone,

If I had seen this post earlier I would have gone out rain or shine to support. As a residence of Santa Ana I’d like to thank everyone who made it happen.

You're welcome, Rascal311

So, do you currently have chickens? In what part of Santa Ana do you live? A small group was formed when we were advocating changing the code and it would be nice to start a community of chicken enthusiasts. You can contact us at [email protected] if you're interested.

(Who no longer has to live in fear of being reported for have 3 hens in my yard.)

Hi Helen, yes I have a flock of five. I’ve already found a home for the one too many if the extra ever becomes an issue :D Got them as day old about six months ago… Don’t even ask what made me get them. I have no clue…… You should start a facebook page for the group, its much easier to manage everyone that way. But yes I'd love to join..

Hi Kevin,

Great looking coop! I want to build something similar but was thinking of going with an open air version like they built at the OC Great Park, with a tool/storage shed attached.

I did create a facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/SantaAnaChickens) to try to drum up support for getting the code changed. There's not much content since so far I'm the only one posting on it. Please "like" the page and feel free to post.

Welcome to the wonderful world of chickens! If you were in Westminster you could have 6 hens, I believe.

Helen

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
