Hey everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself....
1. I've been a proud chicken momma for about 96 hours
2. I have 4 teenage hens, about a month or two away from laying.
3. Speckled Sussex, Barred Rock, Rhode Island Red & an Americana
4. I found out about the group through my aunt, who has had chickens all her life (or at least as long as I can remember). Once she saw that I followed through and FINALLY got my gals, she told me to officially join! But, I've been reading lots of threads during my chicken prep time.
5. I cook A LOT, and in my free-time I blog about the adventures in my kitchen. I've also recently learned to skateboard (quarter-life crisis anyone?) and love to enjoy a good glass of wine with friends and family.
6. I live within the city limits of a medium-sized city in NC with my husband, our cat and dog, and now these four gals. We have a relatively small lot, but have 2 large gardens and try to live a sustainable and "green" lifestyle (single car family, preserving, composting, thrifting, etc). I work in marketing for a large non-profit organization and am excited to be on this new adventure and welcome any and all advice!
