Hello
I am new to chickens, we currently have 5 that just started laying.
Since it is fall I was thinking about letting them clean out our garden area. But I am concerned that with the tomato plants and Rhubarb in there they might get poisoned. Are the chickens smarter than I think? Do they know some how not to eat those kind of plants? Any thoughts? Anybody?
Thanks

For your hens, I think it depends on the chicken. Maybe, you should throw them a Tomato, and some rhubarb in there run, and see if they eat it. Toss it close to them, let them check it out, and if they start eating it, or not, you have your answer. Just make sure you are right there to stop them if they start to eat it. This may no the th best idea, but it may be the only way to know for sure. Good luck, Avery
