Lucian looks less than excited about the rain
I wouldn't be able to live there way too hot. It gets hot here but there is some relief at times!Yes the birds must be feasting on all the bugs crawling in to get out of the rain!
We get much of our rains from June through late September, literally monsoons like you have daily. We've been in a severe drought for over a decade, less and less moisture falls in summer and winter snows. No monsoons this summer yet.

I am up in the mountains at 7,000 ft, 80F to 85F is as high as it gets. Our winters can see 70+ inches of snow, zero and single digits are night time lows. So not at all like the deserts of AZ and lower lying areas of the southwest. New Mexico is the southern tip of the Rockies.
