Chickens in the snow...

You guys have chickens that will go in the snow?
I'm so jealous.
I was so excited for my girls to see their first snowfall. I pictured them pecking at the snowflakes as they fell, making chicken snow angels and sledding down the basement doors.
When it finally snowed, I ran outside and flung open the coop door....
They stood in the doorway for a full 10 minutes, looking at me accusingly. Then they all turned around and went back to the food dish. To this day, they will not set foot in snow.

at least open the door so that they have the option. You can shovel an area, or make a frame of PVC pipes and cover it in tarp so that a certain area doesn't get snow in the first place. Most chicken hate snow, but some like it. They can get frostbite on their feet so make sure they have a snow-free area. Put water and food both outside the coop and inside the coop and maybe a heatlamp. You can buy heatlamps with plastic cages around the bulb so that things like feathers can't get to the bulb as easily and start a fire.
