Got my first actual bantam cochin egg today. Its so tiny! Now I'm getting 4 types of eggs. I'm so eggcited

Now to wait for the sebrights, japs, and oegb's lol

I am glad the math worked for checking the element! For those who want to follow along...

W = V * A, 225 = 120 * A, A = 225 / 120, A = 1.875

V = I * R, 120 = 1.875 * R, R = 120 / 1.875, R = 64

I need to get a dedicated hatcher built.

You can bypass the electronic thermostat until you order a new one. You could use one of the cheap STC-1000, or wire in a new GQF proportional (I took this route). But meanwhile you can use just the wafer...connect one of the blue wafer thermostat wires to the line cord black wire, and snip and tape the wires that go to the old thermostat.

already pulled the thermostats out. those things are expensive . incubator warehouse has one that is cheaper . I don't think it is for wet applications so I would have to mount on the side of the cabinet and use the probe . I'll go back with the GQF replacement . their also the cheapest place to get them. got the two incubators in and the better one has the same problem I think . the turner works good and the fan is not as loud as the hatcher . also the thermostat is not a GQF don't know what it is . and the pilot light is not working on the turner or the heater. so maybe its just a bad switch. I don't have a fax so I have take invoices to Nashville and lose at least hours .Tomorrow I'll go pick up checks and do it again .that's four hours not going to get much done on them for a few days . I'll start putting the hatcher back together tonight .if I don't fall asleep first .

I got lucky on the Leahy, guy I got it from loved it so he started it up empty each year to check it...

I really thought you were going to tell me to stop bidding . anyhow with labor and parts I'll break even .If I sold them and they brought as much as the one you saw on CG . know for sure JOE is a lair and not to be trusted . don't you forget that . once again not your fault I can't keep my mouth shut . and I'll use them . maybe not all three but two for sure . did you see my duck?

I'll have three hens in the Narri pen so I should get 16 eggs a week or better from them once they get going. I hope to have four hens in the meaties pen, but I could start one of them in the Narri pen and just have the Oregon Gray boy in with the big girls. Every year I say I am going to quit raising Narragansetts but they are such wonderful birds, generation after generation, even those I buy that are unrelated are tame and friendly. I brought those genes into my meat line and the Oregon Gray is curious and friendly, maybe a bit too friendly! He's about 18 pounds already at 20 weeks.

All good info... I think he'll be more interested in them as pets anyways... :/ Culling in any form around here is pulling teeth with him... he just likes pretty birds as pets, lol...

Easter or around that time is the best time for selling chicks... that's when it's warming up and people are looking for them... if you can just beat the feed stores shipments, they sell very fast...

When they're up and running, you can get about half your money back selling one on CL... those don't last long listed around here... Actually, I bet they were running when he stuck them in his barn... but that was prolly in the '90's, lol... Yeah, I saw your duck... see my response? Hammer fixes that one up just fine...
